Every hue and cast
Drawn inexplicably into mystery
A swirling vortex of color
I am overwhelmed by Your beauty

Every moment and breath
Discerning the Divine
A sense of light
I am lifted in Your presence

The end to another harsh winter
the hint of warmth
whispered in rustling leaves

I came across a frozen heart
deeply hidden 
in the absence of sound

There is no conclusion
only lingering cold
in the decaying leaves

The Clarity

Descent into darkness
Stark barrenness
Reminds me of all that I lost
And all that will never be

Damn the self pity
See instead the fullness
Renewal through ascent
And your eternal light

 

The Contrast

Glaringly bright
against the gray
Breaking through the debris
Boldly ignoring 
the decay of death
Ironically sustained from the 
decomposition 
of a previous life
Gloriously dressed 
for the ritual of spring 
and renewal
I find hope in you

Contemplating the center
Cascading through blue
Deleting distractions 
Descending through white space
Following the sacred
Finding the lush green
of creation
There I found You
